Daily Outfit: Snuggle Sweater Time

2011Nov26 2

I'm still not sure if this was supposed to be a long sweater and not actually a dress. Since it's an XL and definitely not my usual size, I'm pretty sure it was not intended to be a dress. But I absolutely adore this as a dress. So soft and warm and the length is fun for a sweater dress. I actually got stopped in the mall by a guy in a suit and he told me he liked the color combination of my outfit and that it looked great on me. It really took me off guard. haha.

September/October/November Reads

Well this post is about a month late and I don't have as much to update on considering I've had three months to read books and a lot of sick days in there to lay in bed and read. And I actually have done a fair amount of reading, but all of the books I'm reading are 500+ page books.

September/October/November Reads

Twenty Years After - Alexandre Dumas
So I love Alexandre Dumas, I think I've made no secret of that. After reading the Three Musketeers I discovered that it is one in a series called the D'Artangan Romances. So I embarked on the task of reading all of them. Funny story…. all of the others in this series are MUCH longer than the original book. There's also a reason that people commonly read the Three Musketeers and what is the last book in this series The Man in the Iron mask, but not that many people have heard of the four in the middle. With that said I enjoyed this book for the most part. There were times where it seemed to drag, but in true Dumas style the characters are rich and every detail matters. It was really cool to see how the events from the Three Musketeers entertained and continued to effect these characters twenty years later.

Wanted - Sara Shepard
It took me a long time to finally read this book. I've owned it as long as I've owned the rest, but I just sort of gave up on this series when I gave up on the show. It was entertaining just like the rest of them, but nothing special. I'm glad I finally finished the existing series, but I doubt that I will read the now additional four slated to continue this series.

Currently Reading
Sister Carrie - Theodore Dreiser (page 187 of 752)
Have a Nice Day: A Tale of Blood and Sweatsocks - Mick Foley (page 361 of 544)
The Arabian Nights - Anonymous (page 69 of 736)

Daily Outfit: Gold, Green, & Sparkles

2011Nov10 1

So LivingSocial is pretty much responsible for me actually making strides to get in shape. I have picked up two different deals on local fitness places, and I'd never heard of either of them until I saw the deals, so it's clearly excellent advertisement. Saturday I attended my first barre fitness class. I have to say I knew that it was going to kick my butt because I am out of shape in general, but holy crap. At one point I seriously felt like someone had lit my butt cheeks on fire! Yeah I just said that... but I really did enjoy being pushed to work muscles that I hardly ever work. As much as my body aches, it's a good ache because it means that I'm working towards my goal to get in shape.

Daily Outfit: Stars & Wood Grain

2011Nov8 3

So this outfit would have been topped off by my favorite lion necklace... but sadly it is MIA. I spent 15 minutes looking for it before having to give up and leave for work. I still hold out hope it will turn up somewhere because I honestly can't remember taking it with me anywhere where I would have taken it off and lost it.

I am completely feeling the monotone right now for some reason, which is why there's so much black and gray on the blog these days. I really have been wearing all kinds of neutrals lately. The color will come back, I promise!

Daily Outfit: Colored Tights

2011Nov7 2

I raced the sunset and won! I was determined to get these pictures so I could participate in Everybody Everywhere this week. And I got some beautiful colors in the background of these photos. I love fall. And I love this skirt. I spent probably a bit more than I should have on it, but I hadn't actually spent any of my bonus this year and since I have saved a great deal lately I thought I'd treat myself to something I really love. I got a killer deal on it though all things considered. It was less than half price. And if compliments paid, then I would have already paid this baby off because I got so many compliments on it yesterday!

Daily Outfit: Remember Me?

2011Nov6 4

Hey remember me? I blog here sometimes. Yeah I know I've been a negligent blogger. But honestly I have an actual social life for the first time in years, so I can't really apologize for anything. Not to mention one of the biggest, if not THE biggest, event of my work year is next week... soooo naturally I have been pretty much chest deep in things to do this past month, so taking pictures has fallen on the priority list. I have good intentions nearly every day and am even kicking myself as the sun is going down for not getting pictures of the awesome outfit I wore that day, but it just hasn't happened for me lately. I do have a currently reading feature in the works for this week or next, and I plan to participate in EBEW tomorrow... so hopefully I will get back in the groove here soon.
