Daily Outfit: The SEVENTEEN devils in Hector's closet are slowly untied by his sister Margaret

So I can in fact go relatively painlessly two days without internet.  My computer decided that it wanted nothing to do with Ashley's internet and for no explainable reason.  Hmmm... But It's nice to have my buffer of posts back, that's for sure.  I have been keeping up as you can see with my 30for30.  This is 17 and from Saturday, but now I'll be a little behind on the actual posting of the outfits.  And actually I prefer this. It makes me feel a little less rushed in preparing posts.

Also, please meet my beautiful, stylish, and amazing friends!  Meet Hnin and Ashley, who not only humor my need for blog photos, but encourage it.  Ashley spotted this little courtyard and cool fence line as we walked down the street and did a beeline for it yelling "We should take your pictures there!"  Oh how I love my Ashley.  And I am amused by the fact that we are all wearing skinny jeans and black flat boots.  Aren't they so stylish?!

Daily Outfit: SIXTEEN military wives, Thirty-two softly focused, brightly colored eyes

 2010Nov25 1

2010Nov25 5

Oh the Thanksgiving day outfit.  I had a serious heart to heart with my 30 for 30 items trying to pick this one out.  Which combination of things would give me the most room to stuff myself with food.  This one did the trick.  I think I've worn it to a Holiday meal before, so clearly a winner.  Though the waist did have to be hiked up a little by dessert.

So Ashley and I spent all morning cooking.  We cooked a turkey and made from scratch five side dishes all of which needed oven time.  And Ashley's oven... SMALLEST OVEN KNOWN TO MAN.  And yes... that needed to be in all caps.  But never did it occur to either of us as we were forcibly putting side dishes in the oven that these were not going to fit.  In the end we had an amazing (though not in the least bit healthy: See The Pioneer Woman) meal with our friends.

It was nice to share Thanksgiving with some of our friends from college that I haven't seen in awhile and one of Ashley's friends from DC.  Lots of wine, good food, and too many desserts with whiskey in them, one of which had whiskey whipped cream (YUM), made for a very festive evening.

How was everyone's Thanksgiving?

Daily Outfit: And It's Twenty-five to Midnight and FIFTEEN Miles of Track

2010Nov24 1

Finally internet.  My computer forced me to take an internet break this week by not cooperating with Ashley's internet.  Hence the lack of posts, but we are now back to your regularly scheduled blogging.

Never are you more self aware as a fashion blogger than when you are editing photos on a plane.  It's one thing when I'm seated next to my dad or a friend that knows what I'm doing... it's quite another when I'm seated next to a very cute college boy.  And yes I did feel the need to tell said cute college boy that I am not in fact vain, but I'm a fashion blogger and that's why I'm editing a bunch of pictures of myself.  Sighhhh... Yeah I know I'm awkward, what can I say, I never denied being awkward. Ask my friends...

2010Nov24 4

But this outfit worked out well for air travel. Very comfy and easy to get through security in, which are my two criteria for air travel ware.  Success!  Weee!  Yeah I know.. this is also why I shouldn't write blog posts on a plane.

Daily Outfit: Foot All Jammed Up From Driving FOURTEEN Hours

2010Nov22 7

I always manage to wear this skirt when it is exceptionally windy.  Today was not an exception.  It's one of the lightest skirts I own, so this always leads to more than a few awkward moments.  Sigh.

I've been thinking a lot lately about those people that come into our lives for awhile and then leave again as if they were never there. As someone that is friends with almost all of my exes, this annoys me. I understand the need to put space between you and someone that you were so intimate with, but I don't understand never speaking to those people again. In many cases those people were your best friends for a time period.  Someone you shared everything with. Now I'm not saying that you should be friends with all of your exes, becuase frankly there are many times that the person you thought you knew so well turns out to be someone you really don't need or want in your life.  I've had my share of those. But I think that it's flashing red warning light number one when someone is not friends with ANY of their exes.

Daily Outfit: The THIRTEENth Horse Has Always Been The Best

Sunday activities this weekend? Cleaning, burger making, laundry, and Titans football. My poor apartment is a complete wreck and let's not even talk about how revolting my car is. This month has been a world wind and I haven't had the time to deal with my messy car and apartment. So that's what I'll be doing with the early part of this weekend. Trying to clean my apartment so I don't have to stress about it later.

I love fall. And I'll be sad to see it turn to winter, which is hasn't officially done yet. Today I could comfortably wear this outfit with no jacket. Tennessee weather is so kooky. I had fun playing around in the leaves ad enjoying the least of the beautiful fall colors.

Daily Outfit: Now I Watch the World Go By Through a TWELVE Foot Barbed Wire Fence

2010Nov20 1

2010Nov20 6

Sometimes I find great amusement in trying to fit myself into small spaces... and by sometimes I mean all the time. I really enjoy taking outfit pictures on playgrounds. It find so many silly things to do when I take pictures on playgrounds. This was especially fun becuase I got to climb all over the place. Next best thing to tree climbing I guess!

This is just a low maintenance easy outfit to get me through a Saturday of cleaning and driving and SEEING HARRY POTTER. ermm... yes... that. I am one of those people. I actually have a cloak and a wand, but I did not bust it out for this movie. Normally I see them all on opening day, but I held off this year because all my friends from high school are seeing it tonight and plus after the unspeakable number of hours I spent in the theater last year seeing the marathon and then midnight showing, I was ok with just seeing it this weekend.

So there where these things that looked like they would fun to stand on to take pictures... little did I know that they in fact wobbled when you stepped on them. I assumed they were just little platforms... nope. This is what ensued:

I almost busted my face the first time I step on one of them... I amuse myself. Clearly.

Daily Outfit: It's ELEVEN-thirty Pacing the Streets Downtown

2010Nov19 1

2010Nov19 2

So thrilled for the weekend. I am tired. This cold has really taken all of the energy out of me. I feel a whole lot better, but still not 100%. I just hope that I can shake it before I head to DC in less than a week. I am so excited to get to see so many of my friends next week and to throw a dinner party with my best friend, Ashley. It's what we do best!

2010Nov19 5

2010Nov19 4

I don't know that I've ever really mentioned it before, but I am actually a pretty decent cook. And I really love to bake mostly. I am a whiz with baked good and I'm pretty good with veggies and pasta. Meat is my least favorite thing to cook mostly because I don't like the stuff raw, but I do alright when I give it a go. So I'm looking forward to cooking thanksgiving dinner with Ashley for a bunch of our friends. We used to do this kind of thing in college... we in fact cooked a full thanksgiving AND christmas meal for like 20 people in a dorm room kitchen. It's was glorious.

And a little flashback for you: I actually wore almost this exact outfit years ago when I was in Munich. I think there was another sweater underneath the green one, but everything else was basically the same. I thought that was too ironic to pass up giving you a little flashback. This was taken in January 2007, we were waiting for the U-bahn on our way to Café Glück for drinks. Yeah weird that I remember that, but mostly I remember it from the other pictures in the folder I found this one in. Munich was probably the most fun I have had and the freest I have ever felt in my life. I miss it a lot. I hope to go back there some day. I was there for the better part of the month, but I still feel like there were so many things I still wanted to do there.

Daily Outfit: Same Old Boy, Same Sweet Girl, TEN Years Down the Road

2010Nov18 3

2010Nov18 4

This whole outfit is kind of like a mullet. Yes, I did just say that.  But seriously.  It's totally business in the front and party in the back.  I kept the cardigan on throughout the day at the conference, but then have had it off ever since I left the conference because frankly I don't really like the color combination with that purple and orangey-brown.  It like it better without the cardigan, but it's not acceptable to have my bra hanging out Carrie from Sex in the City style at a conference.

2010Nov18 2

2010Nov18 1

But back to the mulletiness of this outfit.  These tights are by far my favorite.  If you can show me a sassier pair of tights... you best be leaving the link... because otherwise I refuse to believe you.  They're so sweet in the front and then you turn around and BAYUM!  Sassy!  But really the side is where it's at.  I feel like I could wear a burlap sack with these babies and still be sassy.  I only regret not buying two pair when I had the chance.

2010Nov18 5

2010Nov18 6

And this outfit without the cardigan is one of my favorites.  I love how the front looks just business enough and then turn around and you crank up the sexy with the low slung back and a little bit of black bra.  It's perfection in my opinion.  But again... not conference material... hence the cardigan during the day.  If it wasn't for the 30 for 30 I probably would have worn a different color cardigan, but this is all I had so I had to make due even though I wasn't a fan of the color combo.

PS.  I have a lot of hair.  More hair than I have hair in a long time... AND I LOVE IT.
